News & Events Final program : The scientific program for the symposium is available at thefinal program. Preliminary program : The scientific program (preliminary) for the symposium is available at preliminary program. The program will be updated on August 21st. So, please register (if you had not done so already) to the symposium before this date, or sent us a firm confirmation that you will participate in the symposium . 11 August 2015 Summer School : A total of 68 trainees, a fraction with COST support, was accepted to summer school. The demand was exceptionally high especially within Turkey. The school will run , thanks to our colleagues, in two sections, with an alternating program. The schedule can be reached at summer school program . 11 August 2015
Symposium Schedule. Following the end of abstract submission, symposium schedule was updated. The schedule comprises, following the opening session, five “plenary” sessions and five slots for 3- parallel sessions. Poster session is on Tuesday from 12:30 to 15:30. Symposium dinner ( which was originally on the last day) was shifted to Tuesday evening. 11 August 2015 | Summer School :Applications to summer school on Energy Storage and Conversion have begun on May 18th. and finished on June 8th. Applications are currently under review. First group of applicants with COST support have already been selected and informed. The second (final) group will be notified by the end of the month 11 July 2015 | Submissions: Thank you for your submissions. We have received, as we have aimed, similar number of submissions in each of the three activity areas; SS hydrogen storage , Batteries-Supercapacitors and Fuel Cells-Electrolysers. Abstract evaluation is complete and letters are to be sent via e-mail by 24th May 2015 at the latest. 18 May 2015; |
As organizing committee, we would like to invite you to Ankara in the fall of 2015 (7-8-9 September) to contribute to mESC-IS 2015, International Symposium on Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion. The symposium will provide a forum for discussion in recent progress made in three major activity areas, namely solid state hydrogen storage, batteries and fuel cells. The symposium will have a fair balance of plenary sessions covering cross-cutting issues and the state of the art reviews and parallel sessions with contributed papers and poster presentations.
Solid State Hydrogen Storage (SSHS) | Batteries & Supercapacitors | Fuel Cells & Electrolysers |
-Synthesis of novel materials; Thin films Nanoparticles and core-shell structures Porous and nanoscaffold hybrid materials -Computational modeling of processes in SSHS -Storage tanks -Advanced characterization techniques |
-Metal hydride batteries -Adv. anode and cathode mat. for LIB -All solid state batteries -Metal-air batteries -New generation batteries -Batteries for grid energy storage -Capacitive energy storage systems -Hybrid capacitors -Safety and interfaces |
-Adv. electrode mat. for fuel cells & electrolysers -Fuel cell catalysts and catalyst support -Electrolytes; oxygen ion, proton and mixed conductors -Ceramic and metallic interconnects -Sealing materials -Novel processing in cell and stack materials |
The venue is Middle East Technical University, Ankara within easy reach with direct flights from International hubs such as Istanbul, Antalya, Munich and Doha. The city is a place of choice for many respects (ideal for the symposium and the summer school) and it is in close proximity to places such as Cappadocia, Gordion and Huttusas.
Abstract submission is now open and will continue until March 31st 2015 (extended to April 15th). A full page abstract, if desired with figures and tables, is invited and will be available as book of abstract during the symposium. Full papers of selected contributions, if desired, will be published in a special section of the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy after the due review process.
We look forward hosting you in Ankara in September 2015
